
Montemor-o-Velho to host the 2024 World University Canoeing Championships

The Portuguese city will host the best university canoeists worldwide from August 21 to 24.
Portugal will host the prestigious 2024 World University Canoeing Championships, which will take place at the Montemor-o-Velho Nautical Center from August 21 to 24. The event will bring together 250 participants from 24 countries, competing in the speed and marathon races.
The event is organized by FADU Portugal University Sports, in partnership with the Portuguese Canoeing Federation, the University of Coimbra, the Montemor-o-Velho City Council, and the Coimbra Academic Association.
Presentation Press Conference
To provide more details about the competition, a Press Conference to present the 2024 World University Canoeing Championships will be held on August 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., in the Torre do Centro Náutico de Montemor-o-Velho.
Confirmed guests
The conference will be attended by different personalities involved in the organization and promotion of the event, including Ricardo Nora, President of FADU Portugal, Décio Matias, Councillor of Montemor-o-Velho City Council, Ricardo Machado, Vice-President of the Portuguese Canoeing Federation, Filipa Godinho, Vice-Rector of the University of Coimbra and Diogo Lopes, Vice-President of the Coimbra Academic Association.
Looking ahead, Ricardo Nora, President of FADU Portugal, expressed his excitement: “We are thrilled to be hosting this important event in Portugal. We’re sure it will be another excellent promotion of university sport.”
